The Whitley County EDC is pleased to be partnering with WorkOne Northeast and the Indiana Small Business Development Center to sponsor a services-based business incubation program, SBEI - Small Business & Entrepreneurship Initiative.
The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Incubation (SBEI) is a service based business incubation program providing structured services and programs for pre-startup, startup and growing businesses in Whitley County. Sponsored by the Whitley County Economic Development Corporation, this incubation program is focused on equipping small business owners with the tools and skills needed to develop, grow and thrive within Whitley County and their marketplaces.
SBEI’s unique approach is through a successful combination of the Kauffman Institute's FastTrac - Business Success and Strategic Planning program and personal business coaching provided by seasoned and experienced business owners. The program provides the resources and support to help you carefully review and evaluate important aspects of business, explore the next stage of growth and opportunity and reshape your existing business for future profitability and improved business performance.
This 10-12 month comprehensive class schedule and mentorship program will educate small business owners on how to take their businesses to the next level. By the end of the program you will be able to manage and operate your business to maximize effectively, plan for strategic growth and achieve sustainable business success.

Phase 1 Discover – Business Assessment
Let us get to your business by understanding your needs
· Get to know your business coaches
· Understand your business needs
· Determine organizational strengths & weaknesses
· Learn goals & aspirations and develop an achievement plan
Phase 2 Innovate– Workshop Series
An 11-week series to take your business to the next level
Take the gloves off and get dirty during this 11-week, hands-on workshop series. Based on the Kauffman Institute's FastTrac Business Success and Strategic Planning, this series focuses on educating business owners on managing and operating their business. Class topics will include: Business Growth, Financial Tools and Leadership.
Phase 3 Accelerate – Business Coaching
6- month one-on-one coaching sessions focusing on your business
· Financial - Reading, understanding and using your financial statements
· Organizational - Developing the structure of your organization
· Strategy - Developing and mapping out goals to reach business success
· Marketing - Creating, communicating and delivering value to your customers and managing customer expectations
