COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (October 5, 2010) – Ag Plus LP (Ag Plus) announced today that the company is expanding its Raber Ag Center to increase grain storage capacity, improve its agronomy capabilities, and construct a new office facility.

The Raber Ag Center expansion follows the cooperative’s 2009 partnership with North Central Co-op (NCC) to establish Synergy Feeds, LLC, which is a new, state of the art feed mill in South Whitley The new facility resulted from the extensive renovation of Ag Plus’s current feed manufacturing facility in South Whitley and is capable of manufacturing 200,000 tons per year of livestock feeds including dairy feed.
“We are growing organically and through key relationships to serve the needs of our customers,” said Mize, “Our experienced employee team and strong board leadership will support continued growth and success in 2010 and beyond.”
Ag Plus currently has sixty-one employees and plans to hire two additional employees at the Raber Ag Center. In addition to its South Whitley headquarters, Ag Plus operates facilities in Whitley County in Churubusco, Columbia City, Peabody, Raber, and in Allen County in Monroeville, New Haven, and Woodburn.
Whitley County Council today approved ten-year tax abatement to phase-in property taxes on real estate improvements associated with the project. During this project, Whitley County Council also established a countywide Economic Revitalization Area to support tax abatement at this and future project locations that meet local zoning and state eligibility requirements.
